Linden—Willie E. Smith, 71 years old, died early Thursday morning at his home one-fourth mile north of here. Mr. Smith was a member of the Linden Methodist church and the F. and A. M. lodge No. 697. He was born Dec. 14, 1879 in Tippecanoe county, the son of Norman and Julieta Smith. He married Bessie Blue who died in 1943. Later he married Eva Smith at the Methodist church in Linden. He is survived by his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Raden of Indianapolis and Mrs. Helen Evans of New Ross; and a son, Ray Hayes Smith of Leesburg, Fla. Friends may call at the residence after 6 p. m. (CDT) Friday. A short funeral service will be held at the home at 3 p. m. Saturday followed by a Masonic service and graveside rites at the cemetery. Rev. B. K. Johnson of the Linden Methodist church will be in charge. Burial will be in the Linden cemetery.
